2003 rear axle steel brake line size?
I made a bone head mistake and crunched the steel brake line between the rear axle and the passenger side sway bar mount. Truck is a 2003 F-250 with a 7.3. I would like to go to the auto parts store, get bulk steel brake line and bend it myself. But, I don't know what size the line is or what size the fittings are.
Does anyone know the sizes???

It appears the line uses standard threaded fittings when I look up the brake hose on O'Reilly. I suspect the actual line size is the typical 3/16" steel line. Most times you can reuse the fittings on each end of the steel line. You can cut off the fittings and then put on the new steel line and DOUBLE FLARE the line. Brake lines use a DOUBLE FLARE to prevent cracking of the end of the line from a single flare. You need a flaring tool with the added parts for double flaring.
Maybe others will chime in and give you more vital information.

remove one fitting .. with 6 inches of metal line TO the auto parts store.. they will fit U right up...
I have been doing this for 45 years... YES, I make my own custom lines... flair tools , benders... etc. u.s. and metric flair wrenches.... small and large cutters. even super small cutter for really tight places. even ratcheting flair wrenches. ( Not talking about Crow Feet) but got them also.
ratcheting flair wrenches ,ever see one.. I have 2 sets.. one u.s , one metric.
