Hello. Great site and I always get good info from peoplemuch more knowledgeable than me. I have a 2001 F250 Super Duty. I had my rear passenger side tire come apartand really did a number on that panel. In figuring out my repair options, somepeople have told me just get a bed from a junkyard for $150.00 (which I thinkmay be low anyway). I live in the Memphis, TN area and there is a mega junkyardbut a search reveals no F250s (which is hard to believe) but many F150s. So myquestion is would any year F150s fit my truck and what year F250 (or F350s)would fit my truck. Below is the info I got based on my VIN. Thanks as always.

No F150 bed will correctly fit a Super Duty 1999-2016. You may get it to bolt on but it will look silly because the Super Duty is a couple of inches wider on the outside at the front of the bed than an F150. It would not look "right".
Any Super Duty short bed from 1999-2016 will fit on it, but the later models will have a different style on the fenders. The tailgate changed in 2008, the top of the tailgate is thicker to accommodate the optional built-in step and the left side hinge is different to fit the torsion spring. The tail lights also changed on the later models, the backup lights were flipped up to the top.
I would be very surprised if you found one worth having for $150.

 

I'm in a similar boat except my question is about taillights. What years will a 2001 Lariat SD long box taillight fit?

 

The beds I've seen run $1200 to over $2000.
they're in high demand because the trucks rust badly.
