Diesel Courier?
Hi all! I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this thread given there are quite a few categories on this forum. If i started this in the wrong place then i apologize and hopefully it'll be moved to the correct location
I have a 1974 Courier that blew a head gasket not too long ago. Because i can rarely do things the easy way, i started wondering if i could fit a diesel in this courier. I did do a search on here and on quite a few other sites and haven't had much luck finding any info. I was thinking about the Mazda B2200 2.2 motor, but then i figured there might be an easier motor considering i haven't been able to find any of the 2.2 motors anywhere around here. Also im not sure if the 2.2 came with a turbo or not, but i definitely want a turbo. I plan on trying to use whatever transmission comes with the motor i find, the stock 4spd just doesn't work that well.
Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!!

the courier was the father of the ranger, and made by mazda.
both the the courier and ranger came with with the mazda/perkins 2.2 NA diesel, and the later rangers had the mitsubishi 2.3 turbodiesel.
the mitsubishi 2.3 was also used in the mitsu mighty max trucks, and the dodge ram 50 which should make the 2.3 a bit easier to find
