Lately, the single button Push On/Off Volume Control has become erratic on the six CD changer radio in my truck. It does not increase or decrease the volume smoothly when I twist the **** and it is hard to zero in on an appropriate volume.

In the old days, it was an open potentiometer and we would just spray it with a little chassis cleaner and everything was fine. Is that what is in the 2003 radio or is it some upgraded solid state device? Either way, can it be fixed and if it needs a part, any sources would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Mine does this from time to time and I spray it with CRC Eletronics Cleaner. It makes it work correctly for a year or two.
