Transmission

Just had tranny rebuilt. Now sometimes at red light or stop sign it Boggs down. Had it back already to shop that did the rebuild, he said it needs a tune up. Did tune up, still bogging down. Anyone with any ideas of what it could be with the tranny?

Is this a new problem since the transmission was rebuilt, or did you have this problem before the trans work was done?

Was the transmission done by a reputable shop/

Sounds like you may be getting a runaround, but a reputable shop would not try to put you off.

Could possibly be torque converter locked up, and not releasing when braking?

It happens usually between 1st and 2nd or 2nd and 3rd. I'm no transmission guru, just want some ideas before I head back to the shop.

That can happen if the torque converter clutch is drifting on. That can happen from low trans fluid, low pump pressure, leaking internal seals, sticky torque converter clutch control valve, or a bad torque converter.

Thanks mark. Dropped it off 2 hours ago and he said he had to check a couple of those things you mentioned.
