Thats great to know it has had some updating. I didnt have a clue until you told me.
All i had figured out was the papers call it an 88. And the engine is a 6.9 because of the 7/16 head bolts (7.3 are 1/2")
I work at a certified International Navistar Repair Shop too. The old parts books say my injection pump #4145 is from a 86-87 6.9 liter.
Now i gotta find out what year the front clip is haha
I figured the front fenders had been changed but I didnt know with a newer style.
My truck is an F450 with 10 lug wheels. My fendees have F250 badges haha

Thanks for the info. Its good to know for sure. So any fenders from about 92-96 should fit then?
Eventually my plans are to get it wrapped. Eventually. Like I read here somewhere, "I'm working on a paycheck to paycheck budget" , just hoping to have everything sorted out by the time scrap prices are on the way back up.
Mechanic at work recommends a Mico Brake Lock for my park brake as these trucks had horrible park brakes from the factory.
Its got 4 wheel disc brakes which im not sure is factory. Havent gotten that far yet.
I just got the blower fan working. The turn signals blinking, and a new OEM heater core installed. I took a leap of faith buying this thing and never owned or even worked on a diesel before.
I found an injection pump, injectors, and wiring lined up from a running van with a dead trans. Hoping I can see the engine run before I pull them off.

It looks like that would be a good one for towing. The guys that I work for use this kind of truck as well for towing services. I hope that it will works out well for you.
Keep it up until you get it fixed. You've got a good asset in your hands.

I found out a lot about my truck and Im learning new things.
The park brake is a drum brake behind the trans, has a new cable but the wratchet pedal is not wratcheting.
I changed the injectors with 4 good used and 4 brand new and it helped a ton for hard starts and white/brown smoke.
The diesel was kinda sour too so I drained that and refilled and put biocide into the tank, and changed the fuel filter after running for a few hours.
Its coming along nicely and I am glad for that.
Have a good day guys

Well now that I changed all the injectors, advanced the timing , oil change, rad flush, new fuel/oil filters, hooked up button for glow plugs, and did all new wiring for the batteries...
Im happy to say she is running PERFECTLY now.
ive learned a ton about diesels now and im happy about that.
I always avoided diesels in the past. Just seemed like too much trouble.
Anyways I plan still to paint it and keep fixing it up. It runs awsome now. Starts right up after 5 seconds of glow plug pushed in. Its warm these days.
