Haha - I would definitely go with an airstream should I get a travel trailer. https://www.airstream.com/travel-trailers/

Sometimes rocks prevent hooking up and other times you just want to backup over the river ... does not keep out no-seems, sand fleas, gnats, or ants.

The roof top tent dream sounds good until you do it.

The reality is they kinda suck.
pita/borderline dangerous to take a leak in the middle of the night.
If it's windy out you ain't sleeping,
If you have ever been in a tuna tower on a boat you understand that any movement is magnified. Even your mate rolling over makes it feels like your bed is swaying 3 feet side to side.

I used mine for awhile and then gave it away. Converting the cargo area into a sleeping area makes for a much better setup for the conditions and camping I do. Anyhow, your setup looks cool, I don't think you are missing out on the roof top deal.

Yeah they look totally useless (well... worse than) in high winds too. But they look like they would offer a little more protection in bear country. I guess. Hard sided camping is the way to go there I'm thinkin'.

That is the exact reason we have our hard sided trailer. One weekend trip in Denali National park and my wife was done with tents. Nothing came of it, just spooked her with any noise in the middle of the night.

A camper may provide a false sense of security against bears...canned food.

Well sure, but a tent provides NO security is the point I'm thinkin'. At least I can aim better from my bunk.

I sleep outside under the stars in bear country on a regular basis. No big whoop.

But if a bear wants in a car, cabin, house, camper, tent.... Good luck stopping it.
