I ordered a windshield off of ebay and it too was too short and didn't fit correctly in the corners on my 48. My 18 year old son got a bit overzealous when we were removing it after the 2nd install attempt and it cracked. The place I ordered it from made good on it though. I sent a pattern I made by making a cardboard template, then tracing it onto heavy masking paper. They sent a new one cut to my pattern. I guessed wrong in a few spots, and it still had to be ground to fit by a local glass shop. The place I ordered from told me that their pattern was an original Ford script glass. The only good part of the story; The un-cracked portion of the first windshield was large enough to have cut to match my back glass! The local glass shop cut it for $20!

I cannot believe so many people are getting their patterns off of original Ford or OEM drawings by companies and the glasses are not fitting.
Thank god it isn't a curved windshield!
I have my original front & back glass and I will trace the shape on butcher paper!

My glass kit was also purchased on ebay, and the company is good to deal with. They would of sent new glass if I sent back the bad parts and sent templates, it was just less hassle to deal with it locally than deal with shipping.
I am dealing with other cars right now so may be a bit until I get to fit the side glass.

Same thing here it was just a little more to get the front ground and a rear cut new from laminated than shipping it back and have the monkey on my back by having to mark where they did not fit.

Just hung the windshield and back glass in my 52.
Used weed trimmer line and lots of dish soap.
Windshield seem to fit OK.
Back glass seemed a little short on the upper corners but we will see how it all fits after it sees sunlight and time.

My glass man told me to buy the trim I was going to use first then make the templet he said gaskets vary alot and that's why most our truck windows are improperly fitted
