Super quick 300 Six Choke heat tube question
Classic Tube Choke Tubes MUK1002-OE - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing
Hey guys, I'm usually over on the bullnose forum, but I figured I'd go straight to the source and I'll get right to the point!
I'm thinking about making my own choke heat riser setup for a recently rebuild Carter YFA feedback carb for my 86 F150, which is no problem. My bottom tube was missing and my top tube split in half, I know I can re-use fittings and use copper tubes, or get the dorman kit with some fittings that will help the tubes stay in place.
The ideal goal would be a brand spankin new replacement with the proper bends and end flares/fittings. Will one of summit's straight 6 mustang choke heat tube sets work? Does anyone know where you can get new OEM tubes that are meant for the 300 sixer?
I know one of the straight 6's is in the same family, the 250 or the 260, something along those lines, not sure if the manifolds would line up and call for the same length of tubing though.
Thanks for any/all help!

I have found it easiest to make replacement tubes from a piece of 1/4" brake line. Steel is better than copper because it looses less heat. A choke heat sock - the woven glass bootie found on many original tubes - works well to improve heat transfer.
I doubt if a tube from a small six is a direct fit.
