1997 HDF250 ZF5 swap to 1996 CCSB E4OD

Hi all, so I think I finally found a donor truck to refresh my 96 CCSB and swap it to a 5 speed.

The donor truck is a 97 supercab long bed with WB of 155" where my current is 152.2". The donor rolled while it was sitting at idle, and ran upside down for a only a little bit before the key was turned off. Since then it was started and ran for 40 minutes or more with no obvious issues. It had been sitting over a year without being started and it seemed to start right up for me last night.

I am getting no blowby whatsoever with the filler cap off. Also I unplugged 2 cylinders at a time at the valve covers and am getting a pretty similar response. If anything, cylinders 5 and 7 created a little less stumble than the others.

Is there anything else real obvious I should look at to check the engine? I was thinking should still pull the valve covers off check compression and compare contribution of individual cylinders.

Any issues at all you guys can think of with the swap? My frame must be just a bit shorter. I was kind of wondering about swapping my body over if the frame was straight as the donor is more clean all around than mine.

The frame length / wheelbase wouldn't be your only challenge. All the frames "dog-leg" upward just aft of the cab, so a crew cab won't sit flat on a super-cab frame.

What drive type are the two trucks?

Both are 4wd, same diffs with 4.10 gears. The donor has heavier springs than mine so I would use them too.
