1959 Superior school bus bodied F600 - opinions/experience
I am considering picking one nearby currently used as a storage locker.
It has 6lug 20" widow makers that need to be swapped, curved windshield glass that looks rare and other opportunities for learning and spending.
Are there folks here that have leads and or expereince on something like this?
Asking price is $1200 and an easy tow home. Opinions welcome.
Thanks.
A lousy over the fence photo.

Well, 22.5 wheels are out there, and 9R22.5 tires work well and are available. The costs can vary quite a bit from used wheels and tires to new. I have about $600 in a set of used wheels, wheel refinishing and used tires for an F600. That is probably a low end cost. Some other questions are what are your intended uses and how fast do you want to go? That bus may have a 292 or a 223 engine. Axle ratio is probably in range of the high fives to high sixes. 55 mph will most likely be your highest cruising speed with that bus body. Parts can get expensive and challenging to find in some cases.

Wow that is close to home. Best of luck on that. Does it have any modifications like 4wd? I don't know much about the bus bodies but i have a bunch of parts for these trucks and i am right up the street in Windsor. I do have an F550 flatbed though. I personally would like to find a 1960 F750-1100 if you know of one available.

The bus I was looking at is pretty stock other than a previous owner started to make into a camper. It is currrently in Santa Rosa near the Friedmans.
