Tree Line Find Update

Hi its been a couple months since Ive given a update on my "TREE LINE FIND"
last summer and the things Ive done to get it running. For those that remember that thread and helped me w all the trouble shooting and advice Thanks, I abslutly Love my PSD! It has become my daily driver and as advised by a member here... the more its driven the better it has run.

With that I have a new issue which came up last sat. while pulling 3 ton of compost in my dump trailer. After pulling for about 5 miles I stoped for lunch and when I restarted truck it idled rough/loped and died. Restarted and drove home. Sunday morning I went out and saw a small quarter sized spot of fuel under rear tank and by sunday afternoon it was a steady drip.(more on that later) Monday drove to work and same issue... start up rough idle dies, and engine light. restart engine light goes away smoth idle runs better. So I change the CSP because I have a spare in glove box thanks to advice here.

Issue went away for about 10 miles untill I got home and it died when I was letting it cool down at idle. Now if I start it the CEL comes on and it dies after about 30 sec. will restart and run fine but dies at idle. And today it died/cut out going 60 down a hill as I let off of pedal and then restarted imediately. Could it be a bad CSP? I bought two new ones from International dealer and so the one I just replaced was only in truck a few months?

Now to the fuel tank leak... the rear tank rotten and leaking in one spot. Pulled old out and waiting for new tank to arive. Driving on front tank. Just wanted to include this because it occurred at the same time the other issue started incase they are related. And I know it statarted leaking at the same time because it is normaly parked in garage and would have noticed the smell and fuel everywhere. Thanks for any help you could give me, sorry its a long post but didnt want to leave anything out that might help diagnosis!

First thing to do is get the codes pulled and see what they are. When the CEL comes on, it has set a code. Knowing that code will give you a direction to go in.

There are only a handful of scan tools that will communicate with our trucks. Some of the guys on here have a Torque App for their phones and can use that. I don't know much about that though. The Aeroforce Scangauge is a good investment that won't break the bank, or there is Auto Enginuity also. You load the software to your laptop and use it with tha AE. I have both of these.

Would the local ford dealer have a code reader? And would they check it for mine? Or is there a member here that is in the Central Illinois area that would have a reader that could help me out?

I'm sure the Ford dealer would do it. Hard to tell what they would charge though.

Buy the time you pay a Ford dealer you could buy one or both of what Bill mentioned.

^^^^^ This. And IIRC, it's Torque Pro, not Torque, that works with our trucks. You might also need CarGauge Pro. Over on "the Nation", there's a looooong sticky thread in the OBS PSD section about how to set them up.

An Android device is required for Torque Pro, but it's a $20 scan-tool solution if you already have the Android-

Thanks for all the advice on scanners, I have ordered a aeroforce scangauge and am waiting for it to come in. Next question is where do I find the list of code definitions for our trucks so once I pull the codes I can fix what's wrong?

I think the scanguage tells you what the codes mean. Someone else will chime in. I have the Edge Insight and the codes that come up have a description.

The scanguage doesn't tell you what the codes mean. That's when I get out the AE or refer to the Jarrett's link above.

ok temporally installed the aeroforce tonight and found two codes:
1. P1280
2. P0603

the first one is for the ICP if Im correct? I checked it and the plug is dry as a bone. No oil on the plug. Can the ICP still be bad?

The second code looks like it is given when you disconnect the batterys, which is what I do any time I work on the truck... but have never seen that come up before? (CEL) does it only show up if another code is thrown and P0603 is saved ?

P0603 doesn't turn on the CE light.
