I've towed my mustang with an open trailer to the track with 3 different vehicles and the 92 f150 with the 4.6 had the most trouble doing it. 03 trailblazer with the v8 did better and my current Jeep GC with the 5.7 has the least amount of trouble. Tows the girls 2 horses and trailer pretty well too, but I'd really like to go back to a pickup. Hope to use the 55 also to take the car to the track once in a while (351W).
The F150 of mine has the 5.4 3 valve and it has the tow package on it. Power has never been a problem and with the brakes on the trailers neither is stopping.
