Steering Column ideas?

Hey there. I am looking to swap in a automatic tranny column into my 1979 Ford. I want to update the column to a newer style column like from the 80`s Ford pickups with the ignition switch built into the column. My problem is that in the 80`s they moved the gear indicator from the column into the gauge cluster. If I can I would like to keep the indicator on the column.

So my question is, is there some other make/model vehicle column I can get with the ignition interlock and shift indicator on the column? Thanks for any info.

If you can't come up with something factory you might consider an Ididit column.
They make a retrofit column with tilt and a column shift. You can also get a column mounted indicator.
The one drawback is, while it's a bolt in swap, you won't be able to use the stock Ford steering wheel, you'll have to use one for a GM product.
Here's a link to the column mounted shift indicators.
Shift Indicators

EDIT: Never mind, sorry but I just noticed it doesn't have a column mounted ignition key.

Have you looked at a 1980 or what ever the very first year they put the key in the column? I gave a buddy a 1980 ish column (with the key in the column) and it had the gear indicator still on the column. He was going to use it to fix his 80 ish Bronco. Also look at 82-91 Ford Econoline Van I believe they have the column key and the gear indicator still on the column.

Doug, the column is a Flaming River Product, 30" length, 1" DD end, Part Number FLA-FR20021NE, ordered thru Summit Racing. The steering wheel is a GT-9 Retro Cobra, black leather, billet aluminum spoke, polished, 14.75" diameter,1.75" dish, Part Number GTX-38-4245 from Summit Racing. The horn button is a GT-9, small, billet aluminum, polished, Ford colored emblem, Part Number GTX-11-1121 from Summit Racing. The steering wheel install kit is GT-9, 9-bolt mount, polished, aluminum, Part Number GTX-10-5506 also from Summit Racing. I hope that helps you.
