Rebuilt motor/oil color

Bought a "rebuilt" engine from a guy. drained the oil, smelt a lil gassy had a amber/grey color to it. pulled the pan and found grey sludge and mini specs of silver. Are the pictures normal of what oil looks like after brake in? Im guessing the grey was the excesive use moly lube and the specs are bearing wear-in. (the wire, black specs, and blue specs are where some stuff went into the pan cleaning for the new gasket)

it's not a racing engine so it looks fine except for that piece of wire, was that in the pan ?
