Personally I wouldnt mess with them injectors until they needed replacement.

and not to hijack this thread but any of you guys know if doing a 5star tune on a manual transmission truck would be worth it? most of the difference you guys feel in these tunes are in shift points right?

"Worth it" is subjective, but overall, I think even the 87 octane tune would be worth it without the change in automatic shifting.

Not sure it's worth the $'s though

Vacuum is usually not so rhythmic. Exhaust manifold leak? But that's usually a "tick" type sound that gets louder as you get on it.

I had a friend that did some work on his truck, changed the oil and plugs, just some minor tune up stuff. After he was done he heard an odd noise. He never could pin it down and ended up taking off and replacing almost* everything on the front of the engine. Noise. Replaced oil pump and remounted all the ancillaries.
Still had the noise.
He gave up and towed it to a shop who charged him @ $900 US to check and redo everything he had just "fixed" and replaced.
Turned out to be the serpentine belt. *It was less than a year old so this stubborn cheapskate decided that couldn't possibly be the problem. So instead of replacing a $30 belt he "stubborned" himself out of about $2K in parts and labor all told.

I'm not saying this is your problem or that you are stubborn, just passing along a tale of how NOT to do it.
I have no idea what the problem is on your engine, but please check the simple and cheap stuff first before you throw parts and money at it unnecessarily. Sometimes it is a good thing to have a spare belt.

maybe look around at your exhaust manifold bolts, if you have rust, its likely some of those have broken off causing exhaust leaks.
A lot of us used that as incentive to get some headers to help on the power side of things.

I bought a low mileage (31,000) 04 F350, with a few quirky noises. New belt cured them.
And, I agree- sometimes these problems are overthought. It is hard to find or complex to sort out, so it must not be simple. But, sometimes, it is.
