56 Front marker lights/Blinkers
Good evening all,
I'm just getting started at wiring my truck. It was a ground up build and I had very few original lighting parts, I had just bought a set of 56 front marker lights and the bulbs only have one filament? are these only meant to illuminate when the lighting circuit is energized? were there not blinkers on the front back in this era? I tried a search on this topic but found nothing and I'm very inexperienced with this process. do I need an additional kit to make this work? I have a HWY 22 wiring kit and it has wires for the blinkers.
Thank you in advance,
Angelo

I'm not familiar with the 56 but just did this to my 52. I had to put dual element sockets in the stock housings. The new lights I got from a vendor already have the dual element sockets installed.
There are a few posts about converting parking lights to turn signals.

Thank you again for taking the time to answer.

My wiring kit is a Highway 101 22 circuit. The marker lights were from Macs in Lewiston New York.
Thank you,

My 56 came stock with dual element socket/bulbs and a turn signal lever on the steering column. Your 56 should have turn indicator arrows at the lower outboard sides of the speedometer. If you are using an aftermarket steering column, like IDIDIT or Flaming River, the signal lever is already there but the wiring is a little tricky with a 14 way connector on the column.
