Ricon worm-gear
If you have a mobility conversion van from the mid eighties through the present, you likely have a Ricon wheelchair lift. My '94 has the Ricon Uni-Lite and the muscle comes from a hefty 12v motor driving a worm-gear transmission. I'm looking for an answer regarding lubrication of this worm-gear. Nothing mentioned in Ricon service manual. There's a threaded plug on top but I haven't removed it and stuck a tongue depressor in it yet. Do any of you know if it's grease or gear oil? I don't believe in the phrase "permanently lubricated".
