68 f100 door panel paint prep

hi all, i'm a newby to paint and body work, my question is how would you all attack the door panel paint project?Name: IMG_1013[1].JPG

panel paint is in great shape, will be painting it wimbledon white(current paint is yellow)
--is it necessary to take down to bare metal or can i scuff it and paint it?
--if scuff and paint what grit sand paper and what should i treat it with before new paint?
--is primer necessary over old paint?

how would you all tackle this project?

thanks dave

1st.....use a degreaser, denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner to wipe down the door to remove any waxes, etc that might have been used.

2. Scuff with a scotchbrite pad

3. Spray a sealer

4. Shoot the color

my finsh paint will be dupli-color aerosol wimbledon white, autozone said after scuffing panel seal with scratch filler prime because it is a sealer, however i'm not sure the primer(dupli-color scratch filler primer) they gave me is what you all are calling sealer, what product are you recomending when you say spray a sealer, thanks for the patients

There are sandable primers and there are primer sealers........read the can carefully but with white, that's an easy color to cover with so you should be in good shape.
