OT - RIP Merle Haggard

Just heard that Merle Haggard passed today at age 79.
No better music to listen to while cruisin' down a country road in your truck...I will miss him.

I'm sorry to hear that. He was truly a one of a kind artist and man that is getting rare to find in todays world of music machines and auto tune vocals. The world has lost another true original.

Sad to hear this. My no.1 favourite country artist back in the day. Must of played every song he had, he was popular down at the Legion. The older folks could dance to his music.

Just too many great songs to ever pick a favorite, but that's in the top 10.

Yes, he was, great entertainer
. what I was trying to say was the old band I was in played a lot of Mr Haggards songs and the old. And the folks down at the Legion loved to dance to the Merle Haggard songs we played. lol......makes me feel old lol.

Very sorry to hear this. Condolences to family and friends.

Merle was a great imitator of the other popular musicians of the day. Here's a clip of Merle nailing Marty Robbins "Devil Woman"; Marty just laughs and has this "You SOB" thing goin' on, it's funnier 'n hell.
