Trailer Wiring (kits/help?) 72 F250
1972 F250 2wd
I've tried to do some research here on wiring my truck up for towing car-hauling trailers but didn't have any luck. I'm going to be towing a car with a rented trailer or tow dolly but my light wiring is useless. I've got the remnants of a 6-hole and a 4-hole plug, all of the wiring is decades old and a mess.
I'm looking for a wiring kit that will have me lay new wiring all the way back with a modern plug. I understand that since these trucks use the rear brake light bulbs as signals, too, I will need some sort of diode in the circuit. Does anyone know of anything like this available?

I wired my 68 truck using the existing wires to a 7 prong unit but only used 4 prongs( ground, left turn, right turn, brake lights). hooked up right to existing wires you should have no problem unless you current lights don't work properly or your hooking up electric brakes. Most local auto supply stores have the kits.
