I removed one of the bushings from a spring. That wasn't too hard with the bushing removal tool and a BFH. I heated up the spring a little.
To get the new one in, I put it in the freezer for a while then heated the spring.
This morning I ran out to Orschlen's and got some threaded stock and a couple washers and nuts. That combined made for easy install.

It went very smoothly. I was worried about getting the new ones in.

I also received my new shackles today.
So, does it matter which way they go? Should the spring lock pin go close to the frame our can it go on the outside?
Mine was close to the frame, but wouldn't it be easier to install the pin if it was on the outside. Would that cause problems?

I haven't checked to see if the shackle pin will go in only one way or not.

Mine were originally mounted with the set pin to the frame side.

Yeah, mine was like that too. There are several other threads on rear springs at the moment. (It always seems topics come up in groups.) And that person had it the same way. I figure there is a good reason, so I will just put it back that same way.

Oh, shoot! I was thinking you can put the pin in either way, but now that I think about it, you are correct. That would not be good. OK, I'm just glad I didn't try it before I got to think it through with everyone's help.
