Got a 6.4 f450 with a blown motor. Customer has authorized a reman engine. He also stipulated no reflash of the PCM (has a DPF delete). Whenever you replace a HPFP you're supposed to reset the high pressure pump values, so, I somewhat reprogram. Advice?

I by no means am a tuning expert. (Hell, I'm not a tuning novice!) But if re-setting those values is necessary, I would assume by not doing so could void the warranty. Can you reset those values with the existing programing in the PCM? Also, I assume all tuning done on all the trucks use the stock levels in which to base their tuning off of. If those values are different after a HPFP replacement, could that throw the values off in the aftermarket programing? I would think the owner should be able to pull the tuning out of the PCM and get it back to stock, let you do what you need to do, then re-install the programing he/she wants after you're done.

I had to have my 6.4s fuel system replaced under warranty after I found metal in the primary filter. The truck was tuned. All the fuel tables were done with the truck tuned with no issues.

Now that I think about it, I may have returned to stock. I'll double check with my buddy. That was 5 years ago and I can't remember.

I was told Spartan tuning was okay to leave tuned and do the reprogram. H&S was back to stock. My buddy was unsure about SCT.
