In case anyone was wondering, I figured out what the problem was with my Aeroforce gauge metrics freezing up. I had selected a parameter that is not supported, injector timing. Didn't realize this when I selected it, thought I read somewhere that our trucks would report it, but I found some clarification on line that it's not a supported parameter for the OBS trucks (it's mentioned at least once on Aeroforce's forumAeroforce Technology Inc Technical Forums ? View topic - powerstroke EOT not reading. I don't have mine set to cycle yet, just manually selecting whatever metrics I want to see. As soon as I turned off injector timing everything worked fine. So my bad, not the gauge

Interesting. I have a few parameters selected that are not supported and it doesn't cause issues with the supported readings. Maybe I just haven't selected the wrong one yet.

Still on my list of things to do is to note each one that is supported.

 

^^^^ I noticed something similar. If I include a param that's not supported, it freezes only when I have that param selected as one of the two displays. And yes, injector timing is one of them, to my dismay. As soon as I advance it to display two supported params, it works fine.

An aside - I also get the same when trying to get injection pressure (ICP). I thought that other OBSers were able to get this. Haven't contacted AF yet about it. Shoot, somebody recently posted a way to get the cheapo Scangague II (the generic OBD-II square job) to read ICP, and I get it on AE. Oh well, I should quit bellyachin' and Email AF.

 

Ya, there is something wrong with you not getting icp readings because you are right, it should. I'd contact AF like you said. I'm no help with the unsupported parameters. I'm pretty sure I've not tried one that doesn't work with our trucks.

 

I agree, probably best to contact Aeroforce about that. Although I've had some success too just searching their forums. Yes it should read ICP. For what it's worth, Todd at Aeroforce was pretty responsive to my questions via email. Good luck troubleshooting that issue.
