What thread pitch for oil filter?

I'm building something that requires the use of an oil filter. I'd like to be able to use old ones off my 79 400 but I need to be able to tell my machinist what thread pitch to thread my material to. Anybody know the specifics to the threads? I don't know if there's any way to measure them. I just need to be able to thread an oil filter from my 400 on to this other piece.

Maybe, could be just for the opposite end of a muzzle device for a rifle.
