Hi guys I'm new to this site and am in need of some help I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this here so I apologize in advance.
I recently bought a 96 bus with a 7.3 in it I have a good looking 99 v10 Gas truck and want to put the 7.3 in it my question is do I need to buy a wire harness from a newer truck or van and put it in my truck or can I use the 96 wire harness.? I'm running a fully built 4r100 in the gas truck also and would not really like to get rid of it being that it's 6 months old and I just dumped alot of money into the tranny so any advice would be greatly appreciated this is my first swap so please dumb it down with any comments I won't be offended. You will more responses on the 99-03 7.3 diesel section. But I might know something.
You need a new transmission bolt pattern is different, you will need intire truck harness so a parts truck is a must, unless you can retrofit the bus harness into your truck and dash cluster. Other than that its alot of work and you will need a parts truck from rhe same era as your truckso you can just swap everything in.
