Wiper switch ****

How do I remove it? This **** doesn't have a square notch, just a small hole. I'very tried a pick and small Allen key but I've had no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Don't have an "idea"... knowledge!

There is a springy tang through which the shaft passes through. Position a pick behind the **** and press it against the ****. Hopefully it depresses the springy tang. Use a mirror to take a look at what I mean and you'll "get it".

Well I just got it off seems there is set screw in it. I just pushed an Allen key in the hole kinda hard and turned and it back off enough to get it off. Maybe someone put a different style **** on.

Like HIO said, look at the picture, see the little notch? There's a small tang in it. Get a seal pic, bent paper clip or something similar between the tang and dash and pull towards you. This will release the ****.

EDIT: Never mind, I see you got it off.

Yeah it's not oem anymore and it was driving me crazy. I searched and all the instructions were to press the metal tab but I knew it looked different. Just happy to get it off and on it one piece.

Just be happy that you did not rip the w/s wiper switch shaft out, and have something to put a replacement OEM **** back onto.

I've seen wiper switches beaten to death in the salvage yards by hacks who didn't know the proper technique... prolly by Bowtie boys.

Or folks that do not FTE....just like those that rip the headlight **** off, instead of just hitting the shaft release button.

Any idea what size Allen key? Mine doesn't have the notch so I'm assuming there's a set screw too. Can't really see anything tho lol

You know I don't remember. I think it was the second smallest metric one I had in one of those cheapo sets. I pushed it in there pretty damn hard and kept turning. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply, well after some fiddling to no avail, I took some pics, it's got these slots on both ends but one looks to be partially sealed by the factory molding process. Any thoughts?

I have no idea hopefully someone else here may be able to help you out. I am very new to these trucks myself.
