problem reading trouble codes

I am trying to get the trouble codes from my 95 5.8. I brought the engine up to operating temp. and turned off all the accessories. when I scan it keeps on telling me to turn off the air conditioner. Anybody know why this is happening and what would be telling the computer that the A/C is on?

That means you failed to hold the clutch on the floor during the self-test.

Then it sounds like you may have the wrong PCM Computer in your truck.
What kind of automatic do you have (AOD, C6, 4R70W or E4OD)?
What code are you getting and what test is it from (KOEO, CM or KOER)?

problem reading trouble codes

I have the E40D. I tried KOEO and KOER. It seems it won't scan because it thinks the A/C is running.

I still don't know why the PCM is getting feedback that the A/C is running. Maybe I'll try jumping the terminals where the reader plugs into first and see if that works and if it does I will get a reader as you suggested.

I hope you are talking about grounding the single (STI) wire.
