what kind of hanger and where to find them
i have looked all day..
where do I find a front leaf spring hanger that has 3 bolts to the frame..
is like a cast peace that has 3 rivets in it and a rubber bushing..
there are two flat plats the then go to the leaf spring..
this is the rear hanger on the front leafs...
truck is a 1978 F250 4x4..
I think the picture is attached...

You will need to remove them from a parts truck or from a truck at a local pick-n-pull. There are several after market companies that have parts to fabricate your own rear shackle mounts. I don't think the are available from Ford as a replacement part. These can be a challenge to remove as they are riveted from the factory.I think that all front shackles were for 3" wide springs and were the same from 1967 -79 F-250 4x4 if I recall correctly.Hope this information is useful. I'm sure some other FTE member will respond if info is not correct.

thanks 73 crew!
I guess I can make my own...
any one have the center to center dimensions from the bracket to the Leaf center?"" 34400-s(m-96-a) centers "" also the inside width of the flat bars (5468)after everything is tight...
also I found the parts page for it! no luck on finding the part tho..

I took them off and modified some 1980's style ones so I could run dual exhaust really tight to the frame rail for my 460...
now that I am swapping the 460 out for a Cummins 6bt I would like to go back to the stock set up so I know the suspension geometry is correct.
I figured making some will not be that hard I can just buy the bushing and dimension the outside...
then take some schedule 40 or 80 pipe and turn the inside to be the correct size..
then weld the pipe to a mounting plate that lines up with the three mounting holes and the center bolt hole.. last I would put 3 or 4 gussets in to keep it rigid..
I would also have to make the flat bars that drop down from the frame mount to the leaf... for that I just need to know the center of the bolt holes..
oh and a simple trick to get the bushings out for the future... just use a ball joint press.. its as simple as 1,2,3 no more torch for me!!

I checked the stock shackles from a 78-79 F-250 parts truck. Shackle are 6 1/8" O.A.L with 9/16 bolt hole at 4 5/8" C.L and are 1 1/2 " wide and 5 /16 " thick. I measured my stock frame shackle and it's about 3 3/8" between used factory shackles. Hope this info is useful.
This helps a ton for rebuilding these things! I did find some in a pick and pull but have no clue how to get them with primitive tooling... at home I nock out the rivets by using the air hammer to chisel of the head and them pound it through the frame... in the salvage yard I don't have air or power...
Any thoughts?

Dewalt 19V cordless 4" grinder with a cutting blade and patience and a few batteries and a few blades. Permission to let the sparks fly at the JY and have the truck safely supported while under it.....
