95 F250 7.3PSD Erratic Shifting

New to forum and new to diesels. So I'll try to not pretend I know what I'm
talking about.
Two months ago I bought this 95 F250 7.3PSD, 260K miles, auto trans. I have since driven it around 4000 miles and it has performed flawlessly. Runs really great. Many people have remarked on how good it runs.

Until now.

All of the following symptoms seem to have occurred simultaneously:
- loping idle on warm startup
- TS 6pos chip no longer seems to respond to the switch
- strange shifting

When I first accelerate it will advance through all gears almost immediately. Then once I come to a full stop and try to accelerate again it's like the torque converter or trans is slipping - high RPM with very little movement. It will gradually get to around 45mph before it begins to shift.
However, if when I stop I slip it into neutral and back to drive it doesnt' slip but accelerates normally and again advances quickly through the gears.

Since the TS chip became 'dormant' at the same time, I assumed it was the problem. I pulled the PCM, removed the chip, reinstalled the PCM and cranked it up. It ran like it was missing some cylinders, belching white smoke and not enough power to limp to road. So I pulled the PCM, cleaned the contacts and reinstalled the chip. It now runs good enough but the weird shifting remains.

Codes were read, no faults reported.
The transmission is automatic. The OD does not blink and will switch on and off.

I recorded a video of the speedometer and tach during a quick test drive.

I don't have a clue, but it does not look good. Here's a bump to the top.

RESOLVED

The problem was the TS chip. Or specifically the connector of the 6 position switch cable was broke with at least one contact not so contacting.
