Sport Mode 2015 XLT

Just used the sport mode for the first time today. WOW!! Talk about fun to drive. Love the quick acceleration and downshifting. I never imagined driving a pickup with this kind of power.

Hi Mike,

Yup, you'll find most of us agree with you on the sport mode. I don't use it often because I'm a bit stingy with my fuel economy, but it sure livens up the drive. Not sure which engine you have, but I bet the difference is more noticeable with the EcoBoost engines because it removes lots of the turbo lag.

I keep experimenting with Tow/Sport/manual mode on the tranny when we come up the mountain. For the most part, Tow mode seems to do what we need to keep the RPMs up enough to deal with some of the steep/tight corners. Normal mode does not cut it. Manual mode works fine. Both Tow and Sport modes also work, and it's hard to tell the difference when you're just trying to keep the system from bogging down in those awkward places.

Regardless of which mode I choose, I typically see a bit of a hit in the MPG, but the drive-ability is better too.

I was messing with my sport mode just a few minutes ago too.

Very, very fun and it seems like it has sportier sound from the exhaust too, but the exhaust sound could be my imagination.

Little button on the side of the shifter by your thumb. First push is tow/haul, second is sport. Push it one more time and it goes back to normal.
