i am also from a military family... grandfather army ww1 and ww2.. father army air corp. ww2 and Korea.. i was in the air force at Tan Son Nhut AFB Vietnam.. my son was navy in the first gulf war, and daughter was also navy stationed in Spain.. hopefully it stops there.. and my grand kids wont never have to go to war
My gramps served in ww1 as well. Never knew too much about his service though.

I pray for that. If this nation continues down the path it is presently on I will do everything in my power to make sure my grand kids never serve.

I think about the men and women serving today and I am certainly proud of them but This whole Middle East thing should have ended with Afghanistan. GO IN, TAKE THEM BACK TO THE STONE AGE AND LEAVE. See who wants to "F" with us again.

All I'll say to end this is... I am so glad I didn't have to serve under this administration.

Thank you guys for you and yours service.

Too late for that. At one time, the Middle East had great astronomers and mathematicians --they gave us algebra. However, about the 12th century, they decided to return to the stone age in regards to education and bright thinkers so, they've already been there for a long time now. The religion of Islam is not just their religion. It's their form of government as well.

The U.S. has not decidedly won any wars since WWII. This is because since the Korean War, lawyers/politicians call the shots instead of the generals and they tie the hands of the soldiers. Since Korea, the U.S. has not gone into any conflict with the determination to actually win it.

What would have been the outcome of the Middle East conflict if McArthur or Patton were alive today to run things the way they did in WWII? It would be over. I don't know what the purpose of engaging in war is if you don't intend to win?

Hint: It came from my "makeup" kit when I served. LOL

Did the cap come from a camo stick? That was some of the worst made crap. The Cav store sold the good stuff, it went on like actors make-up and didn't run off when you sweat(not that any of us every got hot, or rained on while chasing the guys with black PJs on).

That is basically what it's all about. I think maybe WWII was an exception as was the Civil War and Revolution. All wars are about power, resources, or religion (like our current situation ) bottom line, but some end up justifiable, like WWII.

Look at a map, Afghanistan is not in the Middle East.

And, exactly what did Patton run during WWII?

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!

Yeah, we used " bug juice" first and it would glide on. Then as the bug juice soaked into you pores the camo would kind of be glued to your face. But like you said, start sweatin', or getting pissed on and it would be gone in a day at most. We did a lot of sweatin'.

Thanks for your service GaryKip.

Yes, I stand corrected. It is actually southwest Asia. I should have just been more generic and said "rag head" land. As you are probably aware technically I am right though as Iran and Saudi Arabia are financing the other side.

I didn't say anything about Patton. Geez

In World War II, Patton led the U.S. 7th Army in its invasion of Sicily and swept across northern France at the head of the 3rd Army in the summer of 1944. Late that same year, Patton’s forces played a key role in defeating the German counterattack in the Battle of the Bulge, after which Patton led them across the Rhine River and into Germany, capturing 10,000 miles of territory and liberating the country from the **** regime.

But Patton didn't run anything, as Ike was overall commander. Bradley was under Patton in North Africa & Sicily, but Patton was under Bradley in the 3rd Army.
