Heads
Well I just removed the intake and heads. Real fun with a couple of broken ribs!
They both look pretty good ( I guess ). Let me know what you guys think.
Left bank
I also have scoring in#7 cylinder. I want to drop the pan and pull the piston and hone it and replace the rings because I figure it's probably a broken ring. .
Keep digging Todd. The bottom has to be close!

looks good so far.. now you need a spring compressor of some sort and pull the valve springs.. lower the valve a little and check for any sidewards play to check the valve guides.. if all is good maybe you can get away with a good (wire wheel) cleaning, a bit of lapping then reassemble with some new umbrella seals. on my engine i had a set of heads from a engine i did years ago.. fresh valve grind but let sit for years so i had to disassemble and clean..

A little motivation
Well despite all of the " unexpected" developments I do have a positive. I finished up my heater box assembly. The felt worked awesome for the heat exchange doors. Smooth and Quiet. g. Now all I need is the blower resistor. If my camera wasn't FUBAR I could have taken some close ups of the doors.

This is the one that matches mine the best. It's for a El Camino of the same vintage..

21 years ago, I moved to Baja, Mx. and have not needed a heater since. Lowest temp I have seen is 54 deg.. and thankfully, I found a Dealer Installed A/C, which now is working in my truck. Your heater though, looks perfect, and almost like its new. Nice job amigo. Would you like to buy a totally unused snow shovel? I tied it to the front of my truck, and drove 1900 miles South, and when the first person asked "What's That"? I bought a house..

2x. Judging from your pic above, the center horizontal terminal goes to the motor. So after you clean the terminals put the negative multi meter wire to the horizontal terminal. Then one by one touch the positive wire of the meter to the vertical terminals and look for resistance. There should be two different resistance values. Two different speeds of the fan. If no resistance value then it is bad.

Thank you Brian1971f100 and JEFFFAFA.
72CC428, if it works, I will send it to you, I can always get another one if I need it. All of housing and controls have been removed so it may be a long time.
The only thing that I would like in return?
Keep all of your progress in one thread, because following your every thought in a new thread is impossible.
