Power Steering Pressure Hose Help

I am at total confusion. Went to my local autozone to purchase a power steering pressure hose for my 1999 F250 V10 Superduty. What my truck has they did not have or did it show a image on their computer of what it should look like. They showed me a bunch of other pressure hoses but nothing that looks like the one I have. It's leaking at the rear of the pump at the 90 degree elbow fitting. Attached is a photo of the hose that is currently on my power steering pump. I purchased a 80235 hose tonight from autozone it's not the exact same thing but I thought I'd give it a try. Anyone know anything about this issue. I'm lost. Thanks for any info.

I know that at certain times, some auto parts places used to confuse the 1999 "light duty" F250 (really an F150) with the Superduty F250.

Even for my 2001, which I don't think they still made the F250LD in 2001, I still get the question once in a while - "Light Duty or Superduty F250?"

Could be that their parts catalog has not been updated, or the guy/gal behind the counter just picked the first F250 they found.

The 7700 Lbs payload package on the F150 body style truck was available for several years. Initially in 1997 it was called the F250 Light Duty to distinguish it from the old body style (OBS) F250 and heavier trucks that continued production until the Super Duty went on sale. The OBS trucks were referred to as F250 Heavy Duty.
Chronologically it went:
Heavy Duty
Light Duty
Super Duty
In order of payload/capability it went:
Light Duty
Heavy Duty
Super Duty.
After the Super Duty was released it was way too confusing to have two DIFFERENT trucks called an F250, so the 7700 pound payload package then became known as F150/7700, or F150 Work package.
It is somewhat of an oddball since it is the only production vehicle I have ever heard of that used 7 lug wheels. This is the most obvious identifier aside from the 7700 badging. The American ones got 4R100 transmissions and Sterling rear. It is a good package for what it is. Definitely not a Super Duty, but still a good vehicle.

Hey, Sam, I remember seeing an "F250" with 7-lug wheels, and thinking WTF?

I think if Ford had called it an F200 it would have alleviated a lot of confusion.

I got the replacement hose installed tonight. What a pain ins the A**!!!! Took me about 2 hrs. The hose didn't fit perfect at all and that's what made it hard to install. The tube that comes off the hose that goes into the steering box was way off. Very difficult, and at the other end of it where it connects to the power steering pump, part of the hose crimp is now resting up against a couple of hoses that go back towards the transmission that is coming out of the radiator. It will have to do for now.

I had to buy one of these recently during a P/S pump swap. A cheap Duralast flare wrench ate up the original fitting. Below you can see the difference between a Husky and Duralast flare wrench.
