As has been discussed 33"s with 4.30 will serve you very well, 35"s with 4.56 would do the same. If you were towing then 4.88s would make for a great match to 35"s, that's what I run on our tow rig EX. The effective ratio of 4.39 spins the V-10 at 2230 RPMs at 65 MPH while towing our 11,000 lb TT in OD. The sound of the engine at the RPM range isn't a problem for us on long tow days (up to 10 hours) and the change to deeper gears has actually increased our towing MPGs a bit, unloaded the highway MPG had gone down by approx. 1/1.5 MPG.
Good luck, going to the deeper gears was the single biggest performance increase that I've done to our EX.
Thanks!

I'm currently leaning towards getting 33's next time and running the 4.56's. Glad to hear the real world usage form everyone. If i keep going with the 35's i may jump to the 4.88's.

This isn't a project you want to do more than once for sure due to cost. So id rather have the R's a little higher than be dealing with downshifts all the time. I wish my truck was a V10, but i couldn't pass up the deal.

Just to clear this up a little, the Ex came with 265/75r16s at 31.72" (I'm using Nitto's Dura chart as that's what I run now and it is handy...) and I went up to 305/70R18s at 35.28", so with those numbers plugged into that 4Lo calculator along with my 4.88s it does come out to 4.39.
But the calculated effective ratio isn't the important thing, it's the huge performance improvement while towing that really matters!
The deeper gears not only allow for much more time in OD, even climbing grades towing 11k but the fuel mileage improved from 6.5/7 MPG to 8/9.25 with the same load over the same route at the same speeds. We towed with the 4.88s and 32" tires for 2 years and saw similar mileage as we get now towing (even at the higher revs) but the unloaded mileage suffered with that combo by about 2.5 MPG.

Don't fear the gear. Those trucks even with stock tires needed steeper gears

That's great news I was wondering what I was going to try again because I really like the BFG's the new ones were nice and I'm sure they will go better in the ice with the extra siphoning but I figured they were just too soft and the truck was so heavy they were rocking as you were driving ,my dealer could not believe how we could not get them to balance multiple times should have just tried a second set instead I opted to go back to the original design. I wonder if the new version will last the rubber seems soft ?

Great can't wait to get a report the Michelins that came on my my new truck are horrid I guess if you get used to it all season tread you think they're good until you drive something like the BFG's I used to love it when I plowed with that truck and everyone was telling me it would never do it because the tires are too wide one of the best vehicles I've ever driven in the snow can't wait to set the new one up like it now if I can only figure out how to put a true locker in the back end and leave the e lockers my issues will be solved

Detroit tru-trac or a Detroit locker would do the trick. Seems the consensus is tru-trac because it is not always active. SuperdutyScaler has a locker and a on going thread regarding such as well.

Yes I meant true track by Eaton that was installed in that truck loved it. if you got stuck you just give it a little bit of break and gas and the tires would both grab I'd love to have that ability going down the road civilized in the snow storm power going back and forward with the tire with best traction. then when off road or stuck in the deep mud lock both axles Permanently with my new 2016 6.7 truck's E locker , I also now they make a kit that overrides the 20 mph limit , but that's a dangerous situation going 50 mph with a live axle **** too skidding out take care

Finally got a tape out to the Kumho KL-78's (325x60R20) they they truly measure 34'' tall.

I'm really having a hard time believing that my OEM door sticker says stock tires are 275x65R20 which are 34's stock!

Beginning my savings for a 4.56 gear set.

Did some more research today. I'm getting a little confused with the differences (besides 1/4'') in the 10.25'' gear kits and the 10.5'' gear kits for the rear. Does my truck have the 10.5''? Also the front is a Dana 60 correct?

Looking into Motive Gear and Platinum Torque sets. Also i see "thick gearset". Do I want that?

This is what I'm looking at for a selection:
