7.3 rebuild in progress

I need a film crew to document this stuff, but here's what I've got. This engine had a cracked piston. It is currently torn down and ready to go to the machine shop.

I ordered a powder coating set up, so everything that fits in the oven will get powder!

This engine will get cut/coated pistons, cryoed forged rods, 250/100's, waste gated T4/S369, head studs, 910 valve springs, smith bros pushrods, etc. We'll also be using a Southbend dual disc clutch in front of the freshly rebuilt ZF6.

Here's some of the shiny stuff.

This monster is an S467.7. I think I'll give up a little top end to spool faster. Especially since this is a 6spd build.

I'm not sure what the numbers are. The S467.7 and 250/100's should be good for 550HP or so, but I'm not sure it will deliver the low RPM spool-up I'm looking for in the 6spd build. Looks like I'm going to use the S369 and give up some peak HP to get a turbo that lights down low. I've had an S366 on my junk for about 50K miles now - but it's not much different than the 38R I was running before (both with 160/0's).

The machine shop I'm using can port and polish heads. I'd like to do some porting to improve flow characteristics (not so much for volume like a big gasser) and may use Gearhead's Stage 1 cam. We'll see what he quotes for P&P...

I was also offered to meet THE GUY who wrote the tuning for Int'l and Ford for these engines. He was supposedly in the first truck that came off the assembly line with a laptop when they cranked it up the first time. I was only a little more excited about the birth of my first child!!!! Since we just got Minotaur and will be playing with tuning, I'm ecstatic about the idea that this guy will answer ALL of the questions the other tuners don't talk about.

A friend and I have also been collecting knowledge (and the parts) to start rebuilding our own injectors. I just got an oscilloscope and ordered the parts to start building the controller for our test bench. Lets just say I am less than enchanted with the current status quo in the injector world - specifically with regard to using WVO as a fuel.

The powder coating stuff got here yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!

2016 is going to be a BLAST!

If you were closer to Cincinnati I would have volunteered to be the film crew. Much Like I did on Glenn's engine swap post fire... (14,000 pictures in 2 days)

I took the bed off yesterday and pressure washed the chassis with a rotating zero-degree tip and some purple power.

This is after cleaning/degreasing. Ready for paint!

About half of the frame is in primer as of now.

A lot going on here lately! But here's an update on this project. The engine is getting full rebuild including cut and coated pistons, Colt cam and matched valve springs, ported and polished heads, head and main studs, balanced rotating assembly, etc.

Rear brakes are done. New rotors, EBC Yellowstuff pads and new calipers.

Front-end got new inner and outer axle seals, new hub axle seals, XRF ball joints, new rotors, EBC Yellowstuff pads, new calipers and new brake hoses.
