Getting closer to 351 or 393 rebuild part listing inside...help :)

My list is so far for a Mass Air equipped 1996 Bronco that will be used for boat towing and commuting

Lower End
Block prep...what should we have done to make sure the block we have is good and built right

Balancing/blueprinting/chamfering....what's good and what's overkill?

Intake Manifold
Edlebrock Performer Truck EFI Intake Manifold

Throttle Body
Not sure on the 53mm or 61mm and whether Edelbrock or BBK makes a difference.

Heads

AFR Complete 185cc Small Block Ford Street/Strip Heads
not sure on 64cc or 58cc and stud or pedestal mount rockers

or just going with Edelbrock Performer or Performer RPM heads

Rocker Arms
1.6 or 1.7? and what company....

Y Pipe
Bassani Equalizer Pipes w/Cats for 1996 Ford Full-Size Bronco w/351W & 3 o2 Bungs

Cat Back
Gibson Swept-Side aluminized CatBack: 1996 Ford Bronco w/5.8L
(we live in florida no road salt here)

MAF
I think the stock is 70mm which should be fine for 61mm throttle bodies I think, but supposedly an 80mm is offered??? do I need to upgrade it?

Air Filter
FIPK or the K&N Drop in...this is a MAF truck and I have heard the FIPK works better with it.

Injectors
24lb/hr? looking to make about 350HP with a 351 or 400HP if I go 393

Cams
E303 ??? want a good off-idle cam

Stroker/Pistons/Rods kit
393W kit from Coast High Performance

or just some rods and pistons from summit if I stick with 351W

will need ring recommendations...

Headers (i currently have these installed)
FRPP Hi-Flow Stainless Steel 1-5/8 inch Shorty Headers

Extras

Electric fans?

Harmonic Balancer/Dampner

Water Pump

Oil Pan/Pickup/Pump

ARP Bolt kit

Upgrade Radiator/Oil Cooler/Trans Cooler

Whats the gasket set to go with?

Still debating just getting a 'guaranteed' short block from Ford or Coast High / etc...

Let me know what you can bounce off this list. We are getting closer.

Forgot the following:

Ignition
MSD 6A, part number 6200
MSD Blaster TFI Coil, part number 8227
MSD Ford TFI Ignition wiring kit, part number 8874

not sure if these are the best way to go for my 1996...some say Jacobs

Wires
9MM FMS From Summit ($35 + looms) or Taylor Wires

I'm working on a 351W for my 87, my goal is 400+ HP on pump gas, turn key daily driver. you need a good reputable machine shop, have the block checked, honed, decked and line bored, have for crank turned, chamfering the oil oils wont hurt anything. have your rods checked, put it back together with ARP rod bolt, Good rod/main bearings, Hypertectic pistons would be just fine. if your not gona turn high rpm's alot then quality stock oil pump is fine, genral rule of thumb is 10 psi per 1k rmp, This should give you a good rock solid bottom end, provided you have quality prep work. as for mine im going with AFR 185, TFS intake setup, mas air conversion, 70mm TB, MSD 6A, shorty headers, high flow cats, Flowmasters, 2 1/2 inch exaust, B303 cam or comp cams equivalent, set at 4 dgr advance, double roller timing set, roller rockers, and roller lifters, of the bigest mistake a lot of people make is running to much cam for what they plan to do with it! When all thats done i'm gona back it up with a ART CARR built AOD, so i can run 32" tires with 4.10 gears and still cruise at road speed with out turning the motor hard. hope this helps or gives you some ideas. you can email me if you like DW2455@classicnet.net
