Wonder why it got derated in 96, pretty sure the 95 brochure says 210, and 325 torque. Mass air?? OBDII?? Think I remember the 5.0L had 205 with stick only, 190-195 with auto.
I'm pretty sure all 1996 engines saw a 5 horsepower reduction because of OBD-II. Then again, I never did take too much stock(no pun intended) in factory horsepower&torque ratings. An example would be a 1991 EFI460 pickup I saw dynoed. Factory torque rating was 390 lbs./ft.@2,200rpm, yet the dyno showed 407lbs./ft.@2,000rpm.We've owned a 1993 F-250HD 4x4 with the EFI351, and a 1994 Bronco with the EFI351(first year for a roller cam in it). The '93 engine had a 200 net horsepower rating, the '94 was 210, but we test drove a '96 F-350 4x4 with a EFI351, and seat of the pants feel was a lot more than 205-210. Felt more like 235-240 net. Ford was selling a complete EFI5.8L replacement engine through F.R.P.P. a few years back which was rated at 235 horsepower, so the 205 rating is probably underrated.
