09 F250 5.4 83k plug change

The two on the bottom look like they have seen better days.
I replaced them with the motorcraft plugs

They're definitely worn, but not that bad for the mileage.

Hey Leon, I also have the long thread plugs in mine.

Did you change them with the motor slightly warm (as Ford says you have to do), or when it was cold?

Also, I was wondering if you used anti-seize when you put the new ones in or followed Ford's instructions to not use any?

What did you toque them to?

Thanks in advance, Tom

The motor was run about 3 house earlier. But it wasn't warm. A read in another thread here the dealer said to do it mildy warm.
The plug box has the spec on it, I think 7-12 ft pounds.

I didn't use anti seize also from what I've read.

I had to work them out for the first 2 or 3 turns nice and easilly. Going back and forth. Also I blew out the hole before removing the plugs

Leon, thanks for the reply.

I have needed to change mine for a while now, but had other more pressing things I needed to do on the truck.

Glad to hear the job went well and no issues with following Ford's recommended procedure.

I hope to get to my V10 in the next month.

Have a great day, Tom

I got one of those sparkplug sockets with the extension as one piece. I think it was OTC 6900
