C'mon guys. He is pushing the envelope but he said 30,000 gross, including the truck, not a 30,000 lb trailer. And moving the swather and cows around he's probably only hauling them locally, not to Chicago. I vote for giving him the benefit of the doubt.

It'll haul that much. I grossed @ just under 36k with mine when it had 3.55's hauling my telescopic forklift. And ya, only locally and not far. It does it a lot better now with my setup, and I still do it a couple times a year.

Not a hijack but following along with this in mind.
I am at 20k often and my stock turbo is hating life so is the clutch. I have made the effort of bellowed uppipes and intercooling. I would like to make some changes to the turbo as well. If I had it to do all over I would go to a super duty setup.
Not sure if messing with wheels and housings on the stock turbo are worth it in the end.
I have considered a d66 or s366 but I know nothing about turbos or what to expect.

He doesn't want an intercooler so the relationship between the turbo and new injectors is even more important to keep EGT from climbing too much. More fuel from new "hotrod" injectors without relatively even more air is going to mean high EGT's. I'd suggest talking to Clay at Riffraff and/or Jim at Rosewood or James at Barder turbo service and getting some feedback from them. To do this right to haul 30,000lbs is going to take turbo money.

It's nice to know some of you guys know what a load is. I know 30,000 seems like a big number but, half of that is the pickup and trailer. Remember I'm out in the country with very light traffic, I have to drive 40 miles to see a stop light.
It would be a good idea to talk to clay, I was just seeing if someone else has tried any of the turbo wheels.
as for the trans I haven't had any trouble with the five speeds, the luk clutches have held up to me and I haul more often with my 93 that he dose with his 97, but I power shift once it's moving. Idk if that makes a difference.
I would like to do put the s366 and intercool one, but I'm committed to my IdIs for now. and that would take more money that my friend has right now.
The reason I want to stay away from intercoolers with the farm trucks, is when you drive through weeds or in some field, the fan sucks leaves and seeds into the radiator. With my 87 and 95 in my sig I have to pull the radiators once a year and spend half and hour blowing them out.
