Dang, I Understand now. I found and ad for a "42" cab and front clip but from looking closer the hood didn't have the script you are talking about. So now I am thinking he is off a year or so. Good info in this thread.

Thanks for responding to this thread. Hang in there; you are a good sport! I do like the patina of your hood.

If anyone buys them, make sure you thread the bosses for machine screws instead of using the OEM clips. Buy several sets if you insist on using clips because they will fall off. I passed the link on to our resident expert on 1942s for his comment. Film at 11.

I didn't figure you could be that lucky. Too bad they didn't make those repops the right side for the hood script. It kind of seems they don't really have a purpose other than decorative. Maybe the same size as the one on the radio delete place on the dash of my 40.

I have a 42 and am missing the die cast hood scripts. Are these available?

Does the hood on your truck have holes in the side panel where these pieces would have been?

It looks like your truck was repainted at some time. Maybe the pieces were removed and saved somewhere in the barn? Wouldn't that be great? Does the side glass have a metal frame around it? It looks like maybe not. I see that you also have some Model T parts, radiator and at least one wheel. The Ford scripts are not reproduced.
