New toy! 74 F100 390 C6 auto long box 2wd

Bought this from a neighbor. Had been sitting in a garage for about 10 years. New fuel tank, new radiator, and a whole bunch of other stuff and she is ready to get back on the road.

Still hoping to get a different seat due to the smell of mice and also needs seat belts. A new dual exhaust system is scheduled too. I am re-living my youth with this one!

Very nice survivor for sure. Put some (none charcoal lighter soaked) charcoal briquettes in a open bowl behind the seat, over time they will absorb the smell.

Nice truck, Steven. I love the Wimbledon white on the roof. I had mice in my cab too and had a hard time getting rid of the smell. Until I took the door panels off and found nests in each door! You might want to check those.

Also drop the head liner and ch the A pillar to roof connection area to B pillar area, they love to build a nest with the headliner sound deadner.

Also ck the ventilation duct work. I hate mice! I use the wheel style live trap with peanut butter. Then I 12 Gauge the trap one they are caught. After I remove the trap from the truck. lol

The fastest, cheapest way to upgrade the look of that truck, IMO, is to put on a set of these:

Chrome Ford 15 inch 70s Truck Mag Hubcap | eBay

Thanks for the ideas... the roof is like a baby blue, I was not a fan but it's growing on me!

I will be sure and do all that too. Doesn't seem like they are in the ducts but who knows? I am afraid the headliner will fall apart if I take it out, but I know there is some crud up there...

Currently at the in-laws and getting some parts from their 76 F150 4x4 for my project... little pieces like seat belts, spare door handles, mirrors, and the door sill plates. Simple stuff that adds up quick if you have to buy all of it.

Looking forward to having some time to work on the interior next week and I should have the title so I can license it and get the exhaust system put on!

Before the washing and waxing, right after we pulled it home:

Got a set of seats out of a 2000 Ram with the shoulder harness built into the seat that I plan to put in it. Get rid of the stinky bench and add shoulder harnesses in one shot. Also get the luxury of a center console to store junk in!

Anyone have the ash tray cup holders from LMC Truck? Wondering if they are sturdy enough and worth the $$? Truck Parts and Truck Accessories

I do - it's quite sturdy and works great. The cup holder diameter is only large enough for a can of soda or a small/medium cup, not some of the giant ones you'll see around, but it works well for me. 20-oz Coke bottles don't fit, though. I'm not sure if it would clear the floor shifter on a 4-speed in first and third gears, or how redundant it would be if you are installing a seat with a center console that has cup holders, but I'm happy with it.

It sticks out a little ways to clear the cigarette lighter. I think you could trim some of the extra length to get it in closer to the dash if you needed to, though it would block that power outlet:

I keep a glasses case on that extra space:

You guys were right, mice in the headliner, etc...

Rust under the mat... POR-15 or Eastwood product, believe rust encapsulator?

And the big project: 2000 Ram seats to put in...

I'm still digging thru books and pics on the web to figure out what those hubcaps are from - they aren't Ford.
