Huh, that's not normal. I'd have your dealer check it out. I've not heard of anyone else having a concern like this.
Perhaps @FordService can be of assistance getting things set up with your dealer?

Mine does it too. It is condensation that builds up in exhaust system. Look at the exhaust pipe under engine. There is a sleeved joint there that spits out the water in the pipe. It gets rid of the water and then as the pipe heats up, it swells and the joint is air tight again. The dealer said it was built that way on purpose to evacuate the water in the exhaust system. Climb under your truck after you first start in the morning and you can see it.

My truck has done it since day one. Actually a pretty efficient system. The dealer will have to test it after its sat for a while in order for the pipes to cool and shrink. It might have to sit over night and develop some condensation. A warm truck will not make the sound, plus the water will have dried out by then anyway.

Ecoboost Noise
Hi All,
I own a 2014 Ecoboost 3.5L I have a noise under light acceleration that sounds like Rocks in a can if I put it in Drive and do a Brake stand the noise is more distinctive the dealer says this is normal turbo noise I have several friends with the same year or earlier model and no noises, is one of my turbo's failing or something Rattling. Thanks Much
