I did the same. Had the build sheet and gave my hometown dealership first crack. Then sent the build sheet to the other dealers "Internet Manager" and went from there. Hometown dealership gave the most for trade in and didn't require a "deposit", which really didn't matter as I would have put $$$ when I ordered.

There really isn't a difference besides the badging between a similarly outfitted F250 & 350.
I bought a F-250 SRW CC. 6.2L. With the camper package you get overload springs, a sway bar, & 4" inch lift blocks. In that configuration, the Towing & Hauling capacities are identical to the SRW CC, F-350. Frame, axles, rear end, drivetrain, brakes, springs, shocks, etc. are all the same.
Ford plays some paperwork games where you can register the vehicle at lower GVW (10K lbs.) even though it can actually carry much more. Not sure how it is in VA, but in some states if you're over 10K lbs., you must register the truck as a commercial vehicle. For me, the taxes and registration are cheaper for the F250. Being registered at the lower weight means that I am not restricted to the truck-only lanes, and can also drive on the normally passenger-car-only Parkways in my state.
This apparently will not apply to the new 2017 models.

Sorry - may have confused things when I stuck this thought at the end of the post.... should've been after the first paragraph
From preliminary 2017 model press releases it looks like the F250 gasser is getting a different tranny than it's higher numbered brothers. I thought I also read that the F250 frame will be a bit thinner too..
