loss of power and black smoke after oil change

Truck has been running like a champ the entire time I had it. Took it in yesterday for an oil change. They also changed the fuel and air filters. Came out to over $700 out of my pocket

Drove off the lot and noticed some loss of power. This morning truck still feels sluggish but it is also blowing out black smoke pretty much every time I touch the gas pedal. I am even being super gentle with it. Starting from a stop, I hit 1500rpm and it's blowing thick black smoke as if I was flooring it. Same thing while rolling to get a bit more speed to pass.

Assuming this is a diesel? Year/engine please.

Black smoke usually indicates overfueling, but with a loss of power I'm not sure in your case. Perhaps they threw the wrong fuel filter in there or the wrong weight oil?

$700... Ouch, that's close to six oil changes with fuel and oil filters for me, ugh.

700 for oil and filter change? Your dealer seems a little greedy

That was the full bill when I walked out. It does also include taxes and a diagnostic for a non related issue. Still the most expensive oil change service I have ever had at about $500+ for that.

They might have put too much oil in also. And check the intercooler/turbo piping, that might account for the loss of power and smoke if not connected. Any check engine lights or codes?

So what all did they do for $700?

-If you still have your EGR valve, make sure it's clean and plugged in.

-Make sure your VGT is plugged in

-Make sure your MAP sensor is plugged in and the hose doesn't have a hole.

There is no was an oil change, two filters, and an "hour" of computer diagnostic cost $700! Can you post a pic of the paperwork?
