What's involved with a head re-torque?
I have my cab off the truck and noticed the rear driver head is seeping down the back of the motor. Motor has 174k on it and always runs great. I've heard these engines sometimes require a re-torque. I've never done this on any motor and was wondering if anyone knew of a good write up on this? Also if it means anything, I'm prepping to install a banks turbo as well while I have the truck apart.

Don't torque the valve cover gaskets bolts, they have a low spec, just give them a gentle tighten. They tend to leak on our trucks... often.. If you replace them, go for the rubber ones, not cork. Make sure to clean up both surfaces well. Also check to make sure the valve cover isn't bent out of shape from over tightening, and that all the spreader washers are under the bolts.
