Low budget carpet

I wasn't about to spend $150 on fitted carpet for my build. Home Depot $20. 5x7 black rug fits perfect.

I used the same thing in my F-1. Works great if you have a flat floor and some sill plates to hold the edges down.
Lowbuck!

What are your seats out of? they look narrow enough for an earlier vehicle....

PT Cruiser. Leather and suede. Plenty of room. I centered the drivers side to the steering wheel and placed the passenger to match. 6 inches to the door panel and 2 inches between the arm rests in the center.

Thanks! Did the riser brackets/adjusters come with the seats? They look about the right height. Power or manual?
Sorry for all the questions, I know this thread is about carpet....

front bracket is factory seat bracket. Had to weld up some square tubing for the back. Front is perfect height the was it is. driver side is power, but up and down only (why?) slider and back are manual. Pt cruiser seat belts are mounted in the cab corners.

I can just barely make out the center hump. How did you get the carpet to lay so flat? I want to copy!

Good question. I'm surprised how well it turned out.

Hey Rick, I went to Home Depot with hope. Returned with no hope and no carpet. Could find no pre-cut carpet 5' x 7". Found black carpet on rolls but they were room size. Did find a small random sample of thin black carpet but it looked like the fury half of Velcro. Like it would hold debris and never let it go. In your pic yours looks like it may be leaning toward a loop style. I asked an employee and they couldn't help. Before I go to another Home Depot can you provide any more info that might help me find it? Thanks

Yes it is a loop style carpet with bound edges. It actually measures about 58" across. A hair too narrow but the 2" aluminum carpet strips cover that and a little extra cut from the toe board end finishes the cab corners. I found the exact same carpet at Walmart as well. I think this is it.

Thanks for the additional information. I feel confident that it will lead to success. I'm going to buy one to cover up the ugly and stay clean while in the cab, and if I ruin it in the process I'll buy a second for the finish. Assuming there will someday be a finish..
