Mann+Hummel Aquires Affina/Wix

Affinia http://www.affiniagroup.com/about-us/brands, which owns Wix filters, is now owned by Mann+Hummel, https://www.mann-hummel.com/en/corp/...88ea2741c2c96e, boy its getting difficult to keep up with who owns whom!!!
Seeing as how Mann+Hummel also now owns Purolator, maybe they'll get the Wix folks to show Purolator how to package/build a filter with media that won't tear & install a threaded/base end bypass valve & when they get that worked out, maybe Purolator can show Wix how to build a decently efficient filter media for their well made, but poor filtering oil filters. Kinda sounds like it could be a three way win for all three, if management doesn't muck it up!!!

Sadly so many of these acquisitions aren't as concerned with improving any products under the new umbrella, its all about profits or at least reducing costs.

If Wix does go south we always have Baldwin.

Since Purolator doesn't know that filters actually filter, I hope they keep their hands off Wix.

And it looks like MANN bypass valves are in the dome end, so I doubly hope they leave Wix alone!

Who bought Hastings some years back and dropped one of the PN's I used to use.
I do use Baldwin B2's though.

Since I filter everything except the differential gear lube, the brake fluid, and the battery acid, I use a number of Baldwin numbers!

Oh yea, I forgot, I don't filter the shock fluid, either.....

But I got that "blinker fluid" covered!

I see a shift towards supplying the light duty market with Purolator filters with wix branding. This is a sad move, only time will tell.
