Wife's Expy having door lock trouble, quick double honk when locked by remote
The wife's 03 EB Expy is having some difficulty at the rear passenger side door.
1. Window will go down, won't go back up by switch at door, driver control works it both ways
2. Door will not lock or unlock by remote/master switch, has to be done manually
3. When locking car by remote, a double click of the button gets you a quick, double beep from the horn
4. Her door ajar shows on the message screen, but will go away if you clear it out
5. Interior lights will stay on while driving, go off after a 1/4 mile but when parked and off, they stay on for 15-20 minutes
6. Auto lock feature not working either at this point
7. Interior lights will not come on if either right side door are opened
Is this all connected somehow? Thanks for the input.

Are you the original owner of the Expy ? Just wondering if it's been hit and repaired in that door before....
Does the radio turn off if you open the door with the ignition key out ? If not, it's the door's "jamb" switch. Which really isn't in the door jamb but inside the door under the latch mechanism. It signals the alarm module whether the door is open or closed and triggers all the other alerts on the message center too. The switch usually gets gummed up with dirt and old lubricants people spray in the latch area. It's not too hard to change out. Just pull the door panel off and that'll give you access to remove other stuff. There is a difference between the switches on the left side of the truck and the switches on the right side, so make sure you order the correct part number. The alarm is beeping twice 'cause it thinks a door is open.
An Airtex window switch ( 1S9202 ) is about $45 from Rock Auto.
A new door lock actuator is about $25 on Amazon. They fit most Fords.
So, unless the door harness is totally boogered up that should get you going.

This is the switch from the driver's door. You can get it from Rock Auto..... rear right is Airtex 1S1852 ($34)....
This is where it mounts to the bottom of the door latch.... a quarter turn releases it ...

I have a similar problem but only with the honks. I get 4 honks on lock and 2 honks on unlock. Would really like to know what 4 honks means because I don't have any of the indicators that point to a door open issue. Thinking its the security Module issue but would love to find out its a door actuator instead. Any advice is much appreciated.
Don't mean to hijack this post but my issue might be somewhat related?
Thanks.

2 honks = Hood is open or brake is depressed
3 honks = One of the doors is open
4 honks = Tach is not programmed
5 honks = Key is in ignition
6 honks = System is in Service/Valet mode
