IIRC, some of the 4wd trucks had U-joints? Or is that just a common modification the 4wd guys do?
2wd trucks definitely have rag joints.
Either way, the Moog U-joints linked is for a drive shaft, not for a steering column. The ones on columns that have them are much, much smaller than that, and probably not easily disassembled to just replace the cross-piece.

X2 on your link is for a rear d/s u-joint. If you need a u-joint for a 4wd steering shaft ck out Flaming River or Borgeson, they have complete replacement steering shafts.
I do not think the OEM shaft will come apart easily to replace just the u-joint?

My 76 has ujoint not rag joints. I don't want to run a rag joint on a truck with 44s. But I guess I have to. I wanted to swap the ragjoint to a universal. So for now I'll put the rag joint by the steering column. (New rag) and use my old universal on the bottom until I buy one of those links with ujoint a on both sides... Thanks guys!! Are rag joints strong enough for 44s ?

78-79 bottom steering column bearing??
Ware the hell do you find the bottom bearing in the steering column of a 78-79 f250 manual. It's not the bigger bearing in the auto column, it's the smaller white plastic one ... Napa doesn't have it and lmc isn't specific enough to tell me what I need so please help

JBG has a kit to put a real bearing the bottom of the column. Even when new, the plastic bushing has a lot of slop in it.

With 44" tires I wouldn't run a rag joint .. That's something you should have thought about way before the 44es but the good news is you can do something about it now .. The OEM steering and brakes were never engineered for 44s .. ..
I would"t even drive it without the Borgeson heavy duty shaft set up, a redhead steering gear and the column bearing upgrade with those 44s .. You didn't think mentioning the 44s was useful info ? How long have you been running with the 44s on the truck?

Bought it with 44s. Actually stops pretty good. Steering is good except for the steering shaft. Upgraded box and tirods. Cross over steering.
